Prove your age for alcohol purchases with Digital ID on the Isle of Man

Residents of the Isle of Man can now use Yoti ID, Post Office EasyID or Lloyds Bank Smart ID to prove their age when purchasing alcohol across pubs, clubs and off-licences.

For venues and retailers, this delivers a consistent, digital age-verification process that reduces reliance on physical ID, lowers the risk of ID fraud and supports staff at the point of sale.

The solution is privacy-preserving and secure, sharing only the age confirmation required for compliance.

How digital age checks work in practice:

  1. Customers open their chosen Digital ID app and access their age card.
  2. Only the required age status is shared, protected by a PIN.
  3. Staff visually verify the digital card, completing the age check quickly and confidently.
